The Ritz-Carlton Lodge is located on Lake Oconee, just a short drive from my parents house.
I got off work early and drove down to my parents house to surprise my mom with the news. Within 30 minutes, she had her bags packed and we were on our way to The Ritz!
The lodge is beautiful. With fires going throughout the hotel, we stayed warm, toasty and completely relaxed.
The first thing we did, after exploring our hotel room, was head down to the campfire for s’mores.
They had everything you needed to make the best s’more ever and even some delicious hot chocolate.
Saturday morning we took our time getting dressed then headed down to breakfast. You had the choice to order from the menu or tackle the buffet, we tackled. I won!
Cinnamon swirl pancakes, eggs with cheese and spinach, and the best muesli I have ever eaten (well let’s be honest, I have never had muesli before, I even had to look it up to find out what it was but I could not imagine anything being better than this stuff. I still dream of it at night). The muesli is in the glass in the back of the picture, I topped it with fresh fruit and a little vanilla yogurt. The juices are fresh squeezed, coffee hot, and all while sitting by a cozy fire. Morning perfection y’all!
After breakfast, we made our way over to the spa. I had booked my mom a massage and facial for the day and I was running then getting a hair cut.
The workout room did not disappoint. Fresh fruit and water (flavored with oranges and limes) ready and waiting…
The treadmills were super awesome, all digital, touch screens, you could listen to music, watch TV or play a game while you ran (I played a couple games of memory, very fun). The top notch service continued when my ponytail holder broke, one of the employees asked if I needed something, I said a ponytail holder if you have one (jokengly). He walked away and came back in less than a minute with 2 ponytail holders for me. How amazing is that!
After my run I headed to the spa area, changed into my robe and relaxed until it was my hair appointment time.
During my relaxation time, I found my new favorite tea.
After our spa (which lasted all day). We changed clothes and headed to the Linger Longer Steak House to eat.
Don’t you love that? Linger Longer, why yes we will (I read that before the ritz was built the land belonged to a man that would bring his family to that area to reconnect, hang out, and linger longer I guess).
The food was fantastic and at the end of the meal they bring you cotton candy. They even gave my mom a birthday card that all of the employees signed.
Sunday morning we had breakfast, a quick pedicure at the spa (we couldn’t stay away) then headed back home.
Everyone was so friendly and the service was exceptional. Though we were only there for the weekend, all the the staff remembered our names and always greeted us with a smile. By the end of the weekend they felt like close friends.
If you ever get a chance, check out the Ritz Carlton at Reynolds Plantation. They have something for everyone. In the summer you can swim in the lake or take a jet ski out for a ride. They are also well know for their golf courses here. Like I said, something for everyone. So head to the ritz and linger longer.

The most wonderful weekend any mother could ask for. I had so much fun being pampered and spending some great mother- daughter time with “my beautiful daughter”. I am so proud and honored that I can say Melissa is my daughter. I love you,Melissa. Oh! You are planning to make this an annual affair…right???

I stayed at the Ritz once, and it was actually because a hotel I was supposed to stay in had a water leak. Lucky me, getting to hang at the Ritz. It was so much fun!
Oh that is lucky! I want to go to all of them now, trying to figure out how I can turn that into a career
